Jason’s Listening Notes: In 2016, I joined the staff of UploadVR and was given the awesome task of creating a new, limited run podcast about virtual reality, the people enjoying it, and the people creating it. (That tagline may sound familiar to Linux For Everyone listeners!) I tapped then-games journalist Joseph Knoop, who now handles PR for Sega, to by my excellent co-host. We had a fantastic time capturing that shiny new excitement of the burgeoning VR industry. And we we kicked it all off by interviewing my friend Blake Harris, author of the riveting, Sega vs Nintendo business thriller “Console Wars.” (Note: audio was not great for our first episode, but I tried to clean it up a bit. Still worth a listen!)
Original Show Notes:
For our maiden voyage, we’re honored to have the author of Console Wars, Blake J. Harris, on the show to add his unique insights as someone well versed in the history of some of the most important console launches ever.
Two apologies: Our first show is a bit lengthy, but there was a lot to unpack with the recent launch of the Oculus Rift. Typically though we’ll shoot for 60 minutes or less. We’re also aware the audio quality isn’t exceptional, and we’ve already taken steps to improve this for episode 2. But we still think you’ll love it!
Each episode will be broken up into 3 segments. Here’s what’s on tap for you today:
